Compensation includes placement on a generous salary schedule that includes a merit pay program with progression determined on performance and years of service. Additional compensation includes a full line of benefits.
In the Madison Metropolitan School District, the principal is a critical member of our leadership team. To ensure that each school is a thriving school that prepares every student to graduate college, career and community ready, the principal and assistant principal must demonstrate day one readiness in the following areas:
Our candidate pool goes live in October and typically remains active through March or April, depending on the volume of district vacancies. Applications will be reviewed as they are received; candidates can expect a response with indicated next steps within 1-2 weeks of their application. Candidates will progress through an application review, video interview, and move to an in-person interview process as they apply.
In-person interviews are conducted at least once monthly. The full application process can be viewed here. Candidates are encouraged to apply early for most comprehensive consideration. Candidates applying after December/January may miss out on being considered for a bulk of position.
Final selection will be made by a Chief of Schools with recommendation for employment by the Superintendent of Schools to the Board of Education.
