Make money while building your skills and touching the lives of a diverse group of lively, FUN, elementary students.  This job is for creative, caring people with tons of energy, patience, and love for all things “kid”- crafts, sports, games, reading and more!  Duties include: supervising (and playing with!) children grades K-5, planning and leading projects, helping with homework and tutoring basic math and reading.  Make a difference for kids who need extra adult support and role models.  Fantastic experience for those pursuing teaching, social work, etc.  Some bilingual Spanish positions available leading Dual Language Immersion groups, as well.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Previous experience (paid or volunteer) and/or interest in working with children from diverse backgrounds in the 5-12 age range.

Desired Qualifications

College credits in one or more of the following (or related) areas desirable:

  • Elementary education
  • Child development
  • Child psychology
  • Recreation
  • Social Work
  • CPR and First Aid certification a plus
  • Bilingual persons (Spanish and Hmong) are strongly encouraged to apply.
Other Information

Estimated start date:  Hiring to begin now or at beginning of Spring Semester (January 2018).
Estimated end date: May/June 2018 with an option to continue with our summer programs

Hours of work: Programs run Monday-Thursday, Tuesday-Friday or Monday-Friday.   Hours vary by site.  Must be available to start between 12:30-1:30pm Mondays and 2:00-3:00pm Tuesday-Friday, and stay until the end of the shift (5:30-6:00pm).
