Minimum Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an approved coach?s education course (ASEP) or the ability to complete the course prior to the second season of coaching if no teaching license.
  • Competitive playing experience in volleyball at the high school level.
  • Previous coaching experience with preference to coaches with prior successful experience as varsity head volleyball coach.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of contemporary volleyball systems.
  • Commitment to year-around personnel skill enhancement and program improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide positive motivation and development of student-athletes including year-around monitoring of conduct and academic performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain open communication with coaching staff, student athletes, parents and age group volleyball coaches.
  • Demonstrated knowledge about instructional progressions of volleyball techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze opponent tendencies and to design responsive strategies.
  • Current certification in first aid, with preference for course work in sports-medicine, injury prevention, rehabilitation and cooperation with team or family physicians.
  • Current certification or must obtain within one month of employment and maintain CPR/AED certification from a national certifying organization.
  • Skill in budgeting and supplemental fund raising.  Skill in long-range planning for enhancement and maintenance of equipment inventories.
  • Ability to coordinate all levels of competition within the volleyball program.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and coach a diverse population.
  • Evidence the candidate is knowledgeable of WIAA eligibility standards and is willing to reinforce good sportsmanship and compliance with athletic codes among team members and members of the volleyball coaching staff.
  • Ability to integrate the volleyball program into the total school experience of the student athlete.

Working Conditions:
Will be expected to work in evenings and weekends.

 Physical Requirements:

The job will require you to stand for extended periods of time, while coaching at practices and games.
